This bill prohibits the operation of a train in a manner that occupies or blocks a street, road, or highway grade crossing longer than 15 minutes unless its necessary to comply with safety signals, to avoid striking an object or person on the track, due to circumstances beyond control of the train or in order to comply with federal safety regulation or federal law.

HB 458 prohibits the use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in Class B firefighting foam during training, unless it is used at a training facility capable of preventing the release of the foam into the environment. The bill does not restrict the use of foam containing PFAS for fire-fighting operations.

This bill would require that property tax bills also include information on total taxes for that parcel in the preceding three tax years. Adding this information will likely add costs to counties for reprogrammed software. County tax commissioners have also expressed concern over taxpayer confusion over the proper amount of taxes owed.
